Dear Mr Partridge
Kindly send us two blocks for pipes ready bored as it takes the
old chap a heap of time to perform that little operation
(straighten stem thus (drawing)), I have written to Mr Josiah
Martin the photographer telling him that I should very much like
him to see your unique and valuable collection of Maori Portraits;
for Martin, like myself, takes a great deal of interest in Maori
carvings, tatoos, & c- houses. I would deem it a favour
confired on myself if you will kindly permit him to inspect your
paintings.
I remain
Faithfully yours,
Charles E. Nelson
PS. Should you not get my short biographical sketches of your
deceased aboriginals as early as expected, dont think that I have
forgotten them. CEN
