Dear Sir,
I am taking this opportunity of expressing my deep gratitude to
you for the magnificent gift you have made to the Belgian Fund of
the Lindauer Collection of pictures to be disposed of for the
benefit of the Starving Belgians in Belgium.
It is most gratifying to know that the efforts of Belgium in the
present great struggle, are so highly appreciated as to merit such
a great reward as you are personally giving.
Belgians will be told of and will be sincerely grateful for this
and other great sacrifices made individually by people in your
Dominion, to assist and sustain them in their time of want and
trouble.
May the pictures long remain to the people of N.Z. as a monument
of your unbounded generosity.
Yours faithfully,
Consul for Belgium.
