RC2009/2/58 - 27 May 1915

Mayor.

27th May 1915

His Worship the Mayor,
Town Hall.

Dear Sir,

Lindauer Collection

In connection with the acquirement by the City of this collection might I suggest to you the advisability of a memorial tablet being placed in the Art Gallery to commemorate the gift by Mr. Partridge and in the circumstances under which it was made.
I should also point out to you that the room which contains the collection is not in a happy condition, as no expenditure was made while the collection was merely on loan. The lighting too is defective. Now that the collection belongs to the city I think it desirable to make the room look as well as it can.

I am,
Your obedient servant,
John Barr.
Chief Librarian.
