Messrs Partridge & Co,
Queen St.
Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Auckland S.S. Union I would convey to you its
best thanks for your kindness in inviting our Country delegates to
visit the Lindauer Art Gallery. From the remarks made I am sure
that this invitation was very much appreciated by our country
visitors. Speaking for myself, though I have resided in Auckland
for over 20 years it is my first visit and I very much regret not
having been before. I must say that I was very much surprised at
the high class character of the paintings; a collection like Mr
Lindauer's collection of Maori portraits is well worthy of a place
on the walls of our Art Gallery.
Thanking you again for your courtesy and kindness.
Believe me Gentlemen,
Yours very truly,
H.J. le Bailly
Secretary.
